At Lets Pretend we believe in the power of pretend play. Whether your child is a ferocious dinosaur, a pretty princess or a daring superhero, their brain is going into high gear when they put on a costume. They develop cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally through dress up play... but most importantly it's just great fun!

We are a Durban based, family run company offering unique, well made dress-up costumes for kids. Our costumes are designed with adventurous kids in mind and are meant to be played in. Costumes are made in a pull-over style making them easy to put on and take off. They have no zips, buttons or fasteners, encouraging your child's sense of independence and making your life a little easier. We have a range of popular costumes including princess dresses, mermaids and fairies that are kept in stock for quick delivery. We are proudly South African and all our costumes are printed by local companies and sewn here in our Durban studio. We use as many locally sourced fabrics as possible since we are passionate about supporting our local economy and fellow small business owners. Our costumes are made with fabrics that are durable, stain resistant and don't irritate sensitive skin. Costume sizes range from 2-3 years to 9-10 years. Most of our costumes have stretchy bodices making them more comfortable to play in and with the added bonus that they take longer to outgrow. Special sizes can be made on request with an additional cost of R100. You will need to contact us if you want to use this option. See our size chart to select a size that suits your child best.
